Like wildflowers, our ancestors endured The harsh grip of colonial masters and greedy chiefs. Though they have passed on, They stood tall for liberty and peace. And today we celebrate the dawn of freedom, The end of slavery and colonial rule. Our gratitude goes to Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, And other fearless freedom fighters. To our fathers too, who followed the rivers That carried them from their homes, Carving paths of courage and hope. Though cracks may appear in our new world, Nigerians must still hold their patriotic flame. Like bees, working tirelessly for a brighter tomorrow, Let us build the future with unity and strength.   FEAR: MAN’S REAL ENEMY By Chidimma Placid Nwaka  Many ideologies have described silence as the real enemy of man. Some argue that silence over communication destroys relationships, breeding malice and withdrawal. However, silence itself is not the true enemy; it is only the effect of a deeper cause. Often, silence springs from fear: fear of speaking up, fear of confronting problems, fear of exposing mistakes. What seems like peace may only be suppressed tension, where grudges grow and lead to unwanted issues. Fear, therefore, can be seen as man’s greatest enemy. It is a seed that sprouts silence, phobias, and emotional storms. WHAT IS FEAR? Fear can be dominant or recessive in people.   THE LOST BALANCE OF HUMANITY By Chidimma Placid Nwaka     The world was created real, pure, and safe. It was meant to be a dwelling place where man could find peace and fulfillment. Yet through the ages, human desire has become a restless tide. We are rarely satisfied with what we have; instead of building on the gifts already given to us, we stretch our hands endlessly for more. This insatiable longing has birthed much of the unrest that defines our everyday lives.    There was once a time of innocence, a time when children could simply be children. They laughed without fear, played without bias, and saw no lines of division among themselves. In those days, joy was not measured by class or dominance. But times have changed. Adults, in their quest to create categories and hierarchies, have passed these divisions down to the younger generation. And so, what was once a happy and united environment has been tainted by rivalry, envy, and a sense of separation...

Life throws at us both interior and exterior doors, and we walk through them in our own ways.    Growing up can be challenging, and I admit to it. Yet one thing my maternal family, especially my mother, has taught me is to always look at the bright side through the faith we share.    But in between, doubts sometimes creep in: Does He really exist, like the Bible says?
