A LAND OF DIVERSITY AND GROWTH

A LAND OF DIVERSITY AND GROWTH By Chidimma Placid Nwaka From the North to South, East to West, Our wealth in natural resources shines bright. Like wildflowers, our ancestors endured The harsh grip of colonial masters and greedy chiefs. Though they have passed on, They stood tall for liberty and peace. And today we celebrate the dawn of freedom, The end of slavery and colonial rule. Our gratitude goes to Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, And other fearless freedom fighters. To our fathers too, who followed the rivers That carried them from their homes, Carving paths of courage and hope. Though cracks may appear in our new world, Nigerians must still hold their patriotic flame. Like bees, working tirelessly for a brighter tomorrow, Let us build the future with unity and strength. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! 🇳🇬

ONE HEART, DIFFERENT BLOOD

THE STORY OF INDIFFERENCE IN A CIRCLE   By Chidimma Placid Nwaka  Life is sometimes fair, and at other times unfair. Every mind is shaped by the environment in which it grows, no matter what it later encounters outside. This shaping often breeds indifference. Many people live by lies they were told, and when truth finally comes, it brings chaos; chaos that shakes comfort zones, destroys what once seemed special, and breaks the walls of trust. This is the story of two Egyptian princes, raised together yet born of different worlds. One was destined to inherit the throne of Egypt; the other’s destiny was written far differently. As children, they loved and supported each other, finding joy in everything. Sometimes, the Egyptian King would caution their behavior. They often watched slaves labor under the sun, whipped when weak, while the princes themselves lived in luxury; clothed in fine robes and perfumed with incense. These princes were Rameses and Moses. But blood speaks loude...

FEAR: MAN’S REAL ENEMY

FEAR: MAN’S REAL ENEMY By Chidimma Placid Nwaka  Many ideologies have described silence as the real enemy of man. Some argue that silence over communication destroys relationships, breeding malice and withdrawal. However, silence itself is not the true enemy; it is only the effect of a deeper cause. Often, silence springs from fear: fear of speaking up, fear of confronting problems, fear of exposing mistakes. What seems like peace may only be suppressed tension, where grudges grow and lead to unwanted issues. Fear, therefore, can be seen as man’s greatest enemy. It is a seed that sprouts silence, phobias, and emotional storms. WHAT IS FEAR? Fear can be dominant or recessive in people. Some may face danger with little fear, while others tremble at the slightest threat. Everyone is created with the capacity for fear, whether weak or strong. Unfortunately, some are exposed to fear from a tender age, leaving them traumatized and silent. For others, fear strikes suddenly like a s...

THE LOST BALANCE OF HUMANITY

THE LOST BALANCE OF HUMANITY By Chidimma Placid Nwaka     The world was created real, pure, and safe. It was meant to be a dwelling place where man could find peace and fulfillment. Yet through the ages, human desire has become a restless tide. We are rarely satisfied with what we have; instead of building on the gifts already given to us, we stretch our hands endlessly for more. This insatiable longing has birthed much of the unrest that defines our everyday lives.    There was once a time of innocence, a time when children could simply be children. They laughed without fear, played without bias, and saw no lines of division among themselves. In those days, joy was not measured by class or dominance. But times have changed. Adults, in their quest to create categories and hierarchies, have passed these divisions down to the younger generation. And so, what was once a happy and united environment has been tainted by rivalry, envy, and a sense of separation...

DARK CIRCLES

HE HEARS

HE HEARS YOU By Chidimma Placid Nwaka (Chidimma Writes) “Faith doesn’t erase questions, but it comforts us with the truth that He always hears.”     We are all born into different lives, different religions, traditions, and cultures. Life throws at us both interior and exterior doors, and we walk through them in our own ways.    Growing up can be challenging, and I admit to it. Yet one thing my maternal family, especially my mother, has taught me is to always look at the bright side through the faith we share.    But in between, doubts sometimes creep in: Does He really exist, like the Bible says? Is there truly a God? or is it just a phenomenon everyone grows up believing?    The answer may sound too simple to some, but indeed, He exists, not only through the Bible, but also in us and within us.    Every day, I cry to Him. I whisper my thoughts in silence. I dream and fantasize about the future and still, He hears. Behind cl...

LIVING WITH CANCER

💜 LIVING WITH CANCER 💜 By Chidimma Placid Nwaka  Cancer is more than a diagnosis. It’s a journey a battle that touches not just the patient, but everyone around them. It begins when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably and start invading other parts of the body. These cells form lumps or tumors, affecting the way our organs work. Cancer can begin almost anywhere  and it changes everything. The study of cancer is called Oncology, and its causes can be genetic, environmental, or even lifestyle-related. Sometimes, it’s inherited. Other times, it’s the result of years of unhealthy habits or exposure to harmful substances. But what happens after diagnosis? Cancer doesn't just attack the body, it tests your mind and spirit too. Imagine a little girl, just 10 or 11, looking in the mirror and crying to her mother, saying she’s “ugly” because the treatment made her lose her hair. Her mother’s response? She went bald too to show her child that beauty isn’t just about hair...

IF THE WORLD ENDS

IF THE WORLD ENDS.. By Chidimma Placid Nwaka As time unfolds and changes rapidly, new things come into being. Fresh innovations, eye-catching inventions, new dance steps, recipes, fashion trends, and the endless stream of crimes flashing on TV. Like dew drops, they fall upon us daily. Yet the same old story lingers, wrapped around a haunting question: “What if the world ends?” What will become of the earth? The wonders of nature that we cherish each day? If all were reduced to ashes? Across history, many mythologies, religions, and cultures have predicted how the world would end, when it would come, and what might follow. Some set exact dates, but decades passed, then centuries, and still the earth remains. The truth is certain: no one knows how, where, or when the earth will be reshaped; whether in chaos or in peace. Still, these predictions have left a mark. They stir fear for a moment, but soon most humans return to their lives, unbothered by the thought that everythi...

🌌 HOW WE LOST HIM

🌌 HOW WE LOST HIM   By Chidimma Placid Nwaka  Sometimes, you just don’t have to raise high hopes about tomorrow. He died on a cold night after promising to take us out of the village to a world I had only dreamed of. Uncle Travis, my favorite uncle, was a traveler. He toured countries just to visit their zoos and parks, writing stories along the way. But what made him special to me? He never stopped reminding me to count my days and make each one meaningful. One Easter, everyone came home. And so did Uncle Travis, with a pet just for me. He knew I loved the bunny portrait in his room, so he brought me a real one. A soft, grey bunny. I called it Grey. Easter felt different that year. Warm. Joyful. But that joy didn't last. After our usual supper roasted snails and watermelon smoothie Uncle Travis broke the silence: “Would you love to see another part of the world, Virginia?” Without thinking, I said yes. He smiled and said, “I’m traveling to Egypt tomor...

WHAT IF THE WORLD ENDS

THE DARKEST THINKING

DARKEST THINKING THE MIND The mind is a nesting home for our thoughts. It holds our thinking and provides answers to unspoken doubts. The mind itself is the powerhouse of the heart. It replays conversations to uncover hidden meanings, does research when the entire body is weak, and together with the brain, filters memories that are dangerous for our well-being. Different researchers have explored how magnificent our minds are, even when we are stressed or pushed to the edge. The mind provides the words we speak, the actions we take, and the life we choose to live. That’s why, when the mind is active, the body becomes restless. And when the mind sinks into deep thinking where peace and war fight to settle in our emotions begin to shift. THE DARKEST THINKING The term “DARKEST THINKING” refers to negative thoughts and cognitive distortions in the brain that deeply affect our emotions and behaviors. It can damage mental health, often triggered by environmental factors such as the h...
