From the North to South, East to West,

Our wealth in natural resources shines bright.

Like wildflowers, our ancestors endured

The harsh grip of colonial masters and greedy chiefs.


Though they have passed on,

They stood tall for liberty and peace.

And today we celebrate the dawn of freedom,

The end of slavery and colonial rule.


Our gratitude goes to Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe,

Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa,

And other fearless freedom fighters.

To our fathers too, who followed the rivers

That carried them from their homes,

Carving paths of courage and hope.


Though cracks may appear in our new world,

Nigerians must still hold their patriotic flame.

Like bees, working tirelessly for a brighter tomorrow,

Let us build the future with unity and strength.


Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! 🇳🇬

MOVIE CRITIC: THE HERD Just Like Every Other One, It Reminds Us of the Poison People believe history shapes our lifestyle, and while the stories get interesting, the movies created from them make the connections more visible. The Herd is a historical movie; not too old, just about six years from the real events that inspired its visuals. It is a film that does not intend to hurt any religion or portray any tribe in Nigeria negatively. Effiong Daniel, an inspiring actor, delivered a project that could easily be misunderstood as controversial, especially because it was released during a chaotic and sensitive period in the country.
